The Nile Clay

"Sediments of Time."

For millennia, the Nile flood left behind a layer of rich, life-giving clay—the foundation of all Egyptian agriculture and pottery. The Nile Clay rug is a textile interpretation of this fertile earth.

Woven in a palette of warm taupe, sand, and unbleached wool, this rug is a masterclass in subtle texture. It mimics the cracked, sun-baked earth and the rhythmic furrows of a plowed field. The design alternates between flat-woven bands and raised, tufted ridges.

Commission Notes

"Achieving the precise, earthen tones of The Nile Clay requires a masterful selection of undyed, natural wools. The subtle variations in the taupe and sand colors are not dyed, but naturally occurring, meaning every rug has its own unique fingerprint. You are commissioning a piece of untouched nature."
